Don Kresen
About
Don started his legal career with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office in the Consumer Fraud Division. He followed his, soon to be, wife back east and accepted a position as a litigator in the West Virginia State Tax Department. He left Charleston for a private practice in Central Pennsylvania and the opportunity to teach at Penn State.
After a few years, Don was offered a position with a leading West Virginia defense firm. He and his family moved back to West Virginia for good. After several years doing insurance defense work, he transitioned to the plaintiffs’ bar in 1993. For the next 20 years he continued to represent the victims and their families in personal injury and insurance bad faith claims.
Mr. Kresen has many multi- million dollar verdicts, and many more multi-million dollar settlements. He has successfully tried many cases to verdict. He has obtained and collected 7 and 8 figure verdicts.
Don’s practice areas include industrial accidents, shaft drilling explosions, stack fires, construction site negligence and heavy equipment failure. He has extensive experience in the construction industry. Don even owns and operates his own heavy equipment, including bulldozer, backhoe, loader and dump trucks.
After retiring from his previous firm, Mr. Kresen became “Of Counsel” to the Fitzsimmons Firm. Don has a long history of working both with, and against our founder Robert P. Fitzsimmons.
Don and his wife Shari raised their 3 children in Wheeling.
