Transvaginal mesh products, also known as surgical mesh implants and bladder slings, were devised in attempt to treat the collapse of the pelvic organs, known as pelvic organ prolapses (POP) and stress urinary incontinence. Complications Arising from Transvaginal Mesh Implants
Vaginal mesh products have been found to erode through body tissue and walls, sometimes to the point of exposure. This erosion has resulted in pain, bleeding, infection, nerve damage, scarring, and other medical problems. If the mesh erodes too far, it can perforate other organs, causing further damage.
